Would you believe that one of the largest used office furniture companies in the world, with its 100,000 square foot showroom, was once a business operating out of a tiny little storefront in Bristol, Pennsylvania? Here’s a little history about the big company now known as Arnolds Office Furniture.
Founded in 1929 by Ellis Island immigrants David and Rose Norman, Arnolds started out as Norman’s Stationery Company, specializing in stationery, greeting cards and gifts. In 1950, the Normans’ son, Arnold, joined the family business, and began expanding it into office furniture and supplies. After another name change and some product tweaking, in 1973, “Arnolds Office Furniture” was born. By 1988, this used office furniture outfit was operating out of two locations (Pennsylvania and New Jersey) and was one of the largest used office furniture businesses around.
Arnolds, in all of its incarnations, operated out of the Grande Theatre Building on Mill Street for 75 years, until 2005. It was then taken under new ownership, moved to its current location, and reopened with our now-legendary showroom stocked full of great deals on used office cubicles, used desks, and much more.
With the rich history of this company, it is our promise to uphold the same values and integrity that have been the core of this business since 1929. We are dedicated to continuing the quality and service the world has come to expect from Arnolds and the Norman family for more than 75 years.
